Common Inquiries

What is The Aether LARP?

The Aether is an immersive Live Action Role Play experience set in a dark Egyptian fantasy world. Based in New England, we invite you to step beyond the veil where ancient mysticism meets collaborative, player-driven storytelling. Every choice you make shapes the living legend of the sands.

Who can play and do I need experience?

Anyone aged 18 and older (or 16+ with a parent or guardian present) is welcome to join our community. Whether you are a veteran LARPer or a curious newcomer from across New England, we provide beginner-friendly resources and deep narrative immersion for all levels of experience.

What should I bring to an event?

New players should bring appropriate footwear for forest terrain, plenty of water, bedding, and a simple costume (garb) that matches their species and lineage. We also recommend basic camping gear and a sense of adventure for a full weekend immersion.

How do tickets and registration work?

Tickets are sold exclusively through our Wix Events portal on the Events page. You can register for your chosen gathering online, but please be aware that all ticket payments are collected in person at the gate during check-in.

What happens if I need to step out for safety?

If you need to leave a scene for safety or personal reasons, simply use our designated non-verbal signal or safety keyword. You can step out at any time without penalty or social pressure. Our staff is trained to handle these instances with privacy and care.

Where can I find the full rules and safety policies?

The full rulebook and our comprehensive safety policies are located in the community hub resources and rules section. We encourage all new and potential players from across New England to review these documents thoroughly to ensure a seamless entry into the Aether.

Are photos and social media posts allowed?

Photography is permitted, but player consent is paramount. Always ask before taking photos of individuals and respect 'no-photo' markers. For social media, tag responsibly and avoid posting spoilers that could impact the ongoing narrative experience for others.

What is the policy on food, alcohol, and substances?

Events are self-catered unless otherwise specified. We maintain a strictly dry event site—no alcohol or illegal substances are permitted at any time. This policy ensures a safe, focused environment for all participants to enjoy the narrative and physical combat safely.
